LACROIX operates in buoyant markets driven by technological and regulatory change.
LACROIX is developing its expertise in embedded computing, cloud computing, eco-design, hardware, connectivity and, of course, cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence.
Our R&D strategy is based on the complementarity of 3 areas:
- Our technological expertise in the IoT and electronics sectors,
- In-depth knowledge of each of our markets,
- Technological partnerships, when necessary, within our ecosystems.
This combination enables us to position our technological offering:
- Over the long term
- The best balance between performance and cost
- Over the entire life cycle
- While defending our vision of a sober, useful technology that contributes to simple, sustainable and safer environments.

An R&D team structured to meet the needs of our markets

The Group relies on an R&D team of over 200 employees.
Of these, 150 are specifically dedicated to developing solutions for the Group’s branded markets:
- Water network monitoring New tab,
- HVAC New tab(heating, ventilation and air conditioning)
- Smart Grids New tab electricity distribution networks
- Smart Lighting New tab
IoT cybersecurity: compliance with European standards
Each of LACROIX’s new solutions incorporates multi-level cyber protection, right from the product design stage:
- Our “Security-by-Design” policy ensures that all links in the communication chain are monitored and maintained under security conditions.
- We also protect the software and data embedded in each LACROIX device.
- LACROIX ensures regular vulnerability monitoring, deploying targeted updates throughout the product lifecycle.
- We use internationally recognized cybersecurity standards to ensure the most appropriate protection for our products.
This approach ensures that all IoT devices are secure throughout their lifecycle, in compliance with international standards and legislative requirements such as the Cyber Resilience Act and NIS2.
Our design references in the automotive market
Drawing on over 20 years’ experience in automotive equipment, we have created a range of “Design references”.
These references enable us to design cost-effective tailor-made solutions while maintaining compatibility with all brands and all types of components, to support the design projects of all OEMs and parts manufacturers in the sector.
Our range of design references (or building blocks) speeds up and secures our customers’ developments, particularly in the following fields: controllers, pumps, LED lighting modules.
Our generic IoT platforms
Our R&D team has developed a range of three proprietary, generic and adaptable platforms.
They embed software bricks dedicated to remote equipment management, cybersecurity and IoT communication protocols:
- Generic and customizable: Meet the specific needs of our customers, particularly in the industrial and connected home and building markets.
- Simplification: Designing our own Industrial IoT solutions (for our Environment activity) as well as our customers’ IoT projects (for our Electronics activity).
- Accelerated time-to-market: Integration of industrial constraints right from the design phase.
Our range of generic Industrial IoT platforms covers all connectivity needs at different levels, from embedded to cloud.
LX Gate
LX Sense
LX IoT Suite

For example, the “LX Connect” IoT connectivity platform manages water network monitoring equipment in an optimized, cyber-secure way.
The platform has been on the market since 2023, and sold as a complete solution with the new Sofrel LOGUP data logger since September 2024.
It will gradually be deployed in power grid stabilization and smart lighting applications.
